| Quote: | | In Colorado, being in a ski area pretty much means that people coming there in the winter are skiers. But if there are 24 B&Bs in the ski town, then how will guests choose one from the other? |
I dunno for sure, but if I do a search for B&B ski aspen or a few variations, there is one B&B that stands out as being completely aligned with the skiing niche. From my point of view it is all tied to website. If people don't see the branding of your niche, you don't have a niche, you have a secret
In our area there are nearly 100 wineries and 150B&B's But only 2 go out of their way to clearly establish that they know the wineries and the wine better than anyone else in the area. Its partly a question of whether you express an interest in a topic or whether you EXUDE an overwhelming knowledge and love of the topic. And by exude I mean "involve your website"
| Quote: | | When you can define niche marketing where do you advertise and what do you say. |
Since your website is new I would say Use payperclick advertising to target searches related to your niche (often the pay per click charges are smaller on a niche topic than they are for a direct travel related topic)
Then immediately start adding a section (several pages) to your own web site that targets this niche as well. As soon as that starts showing up well in search engines (may take 6 months or so since your site is new) then you can start backing off on the pay per click campaign. _________________ Steve Wirt
